R Bracken est.1958
R. Bracken Ltd. supplies the highest quality flowers, sundries, fruit and vegetable plants to both the wholesale and retail market.
Within the small family business in the heart of Somerset, Ronald Bracken heads the planning, organisation and growing of the fruit and vegetable plants whilst his son Myles manages the wholesale side of the business.
Roses to Rhubarb
Taking the reins from his father, Ronald tended the family business diversifying to grow roses and sell to local florists. From roses to a variety of other flowers, bunches were transported and sold at Covent Garden flower market, London.
The 1970’s brought further developments to the warehouse and cold store, enabling the business to expand into buying locally from nurseries.
To satisfy the growing demand across the South West, R. Bracken Ltd. sourced from further afield, buying from the Channel Islands to the Isles of Scilly and on to Europe and South America.
The 2000’s brought diversification once more into cultivation of home-grown fruit and vegetable plants to match the demand for Great British produce and the Grow Your Own market.
